About BBN and Latest News

LATEST NEWS (2nd July 2020)

Due to COVID we have reluctantly taken the decision to put this year’s 2020 scheme on hold and will restart / relaunch the scheme 2021.

In the meantime, accredited premises will still retain their BBN status and carry it over, whilst the scheme is on pause we have been working with the National BBN Board to develop and revitalised scheme, not just locally, but nationally.

Not only is this an opportune moment to take time to plan out the new scheme, we hope that a revitalised Best Bar None programme will help support areas as they reopen the night-time economy over the coming months.

Sheffield City Council is working closely with partners on the phased plan to support businesses, employees and visitors as Covid-19 lockdown restrictions are lifted further.

It is important that we all work together to create a safe and secure reopening of the hospitality sector.

The information on this link is aimed at supporting businesses in making the necessary preparations to bring back staff and welcome visitors.

It also includes details of national and local initiatives (led by Visit Britain and Marketing Sheffield at Sheffield City Council) to help businesses begin to stimulate demand.
