Why Best Bar None? What’s in it for YOU?
One of the main reasons for premises to get involved, in the BBN scheme, is to WIN. Whilst winning is important there are some other benefits for being involved:
All accredited premises are now identified as being BBN accredited on this website along with the following tourist websites:
- Sheffield Insider
- Welcome to Sheffield
- Sheffield Best Bar None APP – The app is available for Android at the Play Store and IOS from the App Store.
This year all accredited premises have been promoted via both universities during Freshers week.
Children Safeguarding training
If children and young people come to your premises (for example to socialise, perform, entertain or work) it’s important that you have the right safeguarding policies in place to make sure the environment is safe for them and ‘family friendly’. This is one of the core objectives of the Licensing Act 2003 and as part of your Best Bar None application you are entitled to send your staff on a free training session that is provided to people in the licensed trade free of charge. The training is delivered by the Safeguarding Children Board, Trading Standards and Police and attendance will help you to develop your risk management procedures as well as helping you to evidence your child protection policies as part of your Best Bar None application. Project ARGUS is a NaCTSO led initiative; NaCTSO is the National Counter Terrorist Security Office which asks businesses and other organisations to consider their preparedness for a terrorist attack. It achieves this by guiding people through a simulated multi-media attack which identifies the measures that can assist in preventing, handling and recovering from such an incident. It explores what is likely to happen in the event of a terrorist attack. It highlights the importance of being prepared and having the necessary plans in place to help safeguard staff, visitors and assets. All events include a module on the use of firearms by terrorists Contact the DACT for more details 0114 2736851
